RSM hosted its annual leadership conference utilizing Communique’s hybrid event platform.

RSM US LLP is a Fortune 500 audit, tax, and consulting firm focused on the middle market in the US. It is the 5th largest accounting firm in the US with 12,000 employees across 86 cities. RSM’s alliance program includes 92 independent accounting, consulting and professional services firms. RSM US Alliance program facilitates a diverse community of firms that collaborate to create strategic value and position member firms as first-choice advisors. Membership gives firms access to the resources of a national CPA firm while allowing them to maintain their independence and entrepreneurial culture.

Members gain access to a valuable accounting and consulting peer network of like-sized firms as well as a broad range of technical tools, expertise and practice management resources, including:

The Challenge

The annual event was historically in-person until COVID hit in 2020. The 2020 and 2021 event was fully virtual. RSM leadership wanted to go back to an in-person format for 2022, but realized that many attendees may not be willing or able to travel to attend.

The RSM event team wanted a hybrid event platform could meet their needs:

  • Custom branding and design that had a wow factor
  • Event flexibility and configuration: exhibit halls, booths, networking lounges, and content downloads
  • Production quality streaming of the keynote sessions with audience engagement
  • Build community relationships and make strategic connections: Collaborative breakout sessions and networking matchmaking
  • Team building
  • Reporting and metrics for post-event marketing and engagement

The Solution

RSM’s event team decided on a combination synchronous and asynchronous hybrid event format.  The only synchronous component was the keynote sessions. The rest of the virtual format was asynchronous. In addition to Communique’s ability to fulfill RSM’s requirements, the team was impressed with the breadth of Communique’s hybrid event platform features and deep experience.

Looking ahead to 2023, RSM has plans to continue with hybrid event event format in order to combine the face to face interaction achieved at an in-person event with the reach and inclusiveness that a virtual event provides.
